“Energy efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort.”
Design with the Environment in Mind
Using green building products, DWC desires to be environmentally responsible and energy efficient on every project. Such efforts are not only eco-friendly, but provide bottom-line savings for the client. We work closely with homeowners to make sure expectations in this area are met and/or exceeded.
To attain this, we use the highest quality building products available, including high SEER* air conditioning systems, 95% variable speed furnaces, geo-thermal systems when applicable, tankless water systems, high-efficiency insulation products, and wood windows with Low-E glass and Argon gas insulation, to name a few.
* Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. This is a measure of the energy efficiency of the air conditioning system. SEER ratings permit consumers to compare operating costs of various cooling systems and products. DWC uses SEER ratings from 15-21 SEER in all our systems.
DWC typically exceeds the requirements of the U.S. EPA ENERGY STAR program but we are supportive of its intent and have enrolled many of our houses in the ENERGY STAR program in the past. ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Homes that we enroll in the ENERGY STAR program are tested and certified as ENERGY STAR homes at the completion of construction.
Results are already adding up. Americans, with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved enough energy in 2007 alone to avoid greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those from 27 million cars — all while saving $16 billion on their utility bills.
Energy efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort.
DWC is proud to be part of the solution for environmental and energy conservation for the homeowner. Ask us about “green” options for your home.
